Choosing The Right Toothbrush And Floss For Braces

Jan 2 • 1 minute read

HAVING BRACES CAN present unique new challenges when it comes to brushing and flossing because it takes a lot more TLC to clean around those brackets. Selecting the right toothbrush and floss can make a world of difference, but with so many options out there, where do you even start? Fortunately, we can help with that.

Proper Cleaning Tools For Flossing

We recommend you floss between all teeth once a day. Insert floss into floss threader behind archwire, and gently clean sides of teeth and under gums with an up and down motion. Repeat until all areas are clean.
A proxy brush can also help a hard to reach area, especially when you are on the go.

Manual Or Electric Toothbrush?

We recommend you use a soft toothbrush. Start brushing on the upper right. Brush above and below the braces using a small circular motion. Slowly work your brush toward the front teeth and over to the left side. Then brush the insides and biting surfaces. TAKE YOUR TIME !! If you prefer an electric toothbrush we recommend the Oral B Ortho Essentials Precision 5000. We offer the entire kit for only $125.00. It comes fully equipped with 2 ortho brush heads, 1 power tip brushhead, stand, travel case, smartguide, and a full size mouthwash, toothpaste, and super floss.
